Statistical Relational
Artificial Intelligence Lab
The StarAI | Statistical Relational Artificial Intelligence Lab is dedicated to advancing the frontiers of artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on Statistical Relational AI, where we explore the integration of probabilistic reasoning with relational structures to model complex, interconnected systems. We focus on developing algorithms that can handle uncertainty, learn from rich relational data, and support interpretability.
Our research spans several interconnected fields, including Machine Learning, where we develop innovative methods for solving data-driven problems, and Semantic Web/Description Logics to enhance machine understanding, reasoning and learning. Finally, a recent connection between Statistical Relational AI and Process Mining lies in their shared focus on understanding complex, data-rich environments with inherent uncertainties and dependencies.
The research group is coordinated by Prof. Elena Bellodi alongside the research team:
Michela Vespa, PhD student;
Francesco Resca, Research Assistant;
Francesco Bartoli, Research Assistant;
Giuseppe Chessa, Research Assistant;
Leonardo Rastelli, Research Assistant.
